Fun W/ Photography & Digital Art Group

Starting today for the 2 weeks (not counting Fridays), I will be doing a photography group at my girl’s school.  They have this program called Pick Your Own (PYO) Enrichment, where kids get to pick a group they want to do for a certain period of time.  This time, I doing a photography group called “Fun W/ Photography & Digital Art.”
I am hoping to share my love for photography & digital art through fun exercises, activities, & creating their own works of art.  I’m also hoping I can teach the children how to think about outside the box, be more creative with their choices, it isn’t just point & shoot.
It was a lot of fun figuring out what I wanted to do with this group since there is so much you can teach 4th graders.  And since this is the 1st time doing something like this, I wanted to make sure we kept it fun & exciting for the kids.  Having bored & unenthusiastic children to work with, would be such a pain.  I wanted to keep it simple so I split up the days with different themes to help guide them in what to take pics of like a lot of us photographers do.
Guess what image of the day?  Any takers?3

**this post is part of my Beautiful Journey series where i document an image a day with words or not, so i can remember the small special moments throughout our year**

Two Days of Friends

Friday the girls were able to make some snowmen after school.  I love seeing their creativity with them.  They were so excited to show me them, when I went out I didn’t realize they were mini snowmen.  The one of the left my daughter told me is where glasses and the one on the right eye fell off but she didn’t care, she was still so very proud.  She added a pipe to it, which in her eyes made it all that much better.  They worked so hard on these and were so proud, how could I not love these?

She always has piggy by her side, which you can tell he is super loved.  She’s had him since birth and she would be so lost without him.  Sully she carries around now, so piggy has a friend to hang out with.  On Saturday we made a family trip to the grocery store.  There my 8 yr old insisted on bringing her two favorite stuffed animals in.  She couldn’t just take one because they are best friends that come together.  A package deal.  She carefully placed them in the front seat, so they could see everything going on she said.  How cute is she?

Beautiful Journey

“When you rush through life it becomes a race, but when you enjoy each moment it becomes a beautiful journey.” ~Apoorve Dubey

If you read either one of my blogs, you know I truly believe with all my soul that it’s the little moments in our lives that fills our life with happiness & joy. It’s the beauty of those moments that transform our lives, creating memories to forever cherish.
In 2015, I was in a creative rut, one that I couldn’t seem to get out of.  I didn’t take nearly as many images as I normally do, and at the end of the year, when I went through & picked my favorite images to print, I was completely saddened by the lack of images.  I mean I only had 1 or 2 of all my 5 kids together for the whole year!  Pretty soon my oldest will be 18 and when he’s off making a place for himself in the world and I will looking for those images to comfort me during his absence.
A few days later, I was checking out a few of my favorite blogs and saw the recaps of their year through images and my heart broke. This is something I truly regret. Something I feel I missed out on because I couldn’t dig myself out of the creative hole I was in.  So with the new year beginning, I’m determined to not repeat last year’s mistake, it’s time to jump back in and start doing what I love to do best…….photographing & exploring our the world around us. My photography is something I do for myself, as well as my children.  Yes, they enjoy it as much as I do.  We spend many a nights looking at old images, talking about what happened in them.  But I also love sharing the meaningful images or images I’m proud of with like minded people.  Which is where my 1st 2016 photography project began.
This is a 365 project that that highlights & documents the beauty in our everyday.  And “Beautiful Journey” was born.

Please check back daily for my new images. I will accompany them with a quote, story, poem, or sometimes with nothing at all.  But since I’m a quote gal, you can bet there will be quite a few of them.  🙂  If you are doing your own 365 or another photography or creative project, please leave me a link in the comments so I can follow along. There’s a lot of new things happening with Ever Changing over this next year, hope you’ll come back regularly & check them out.

What do you do to get yourself out of a creative rut?

Love these photos so much I had to share.  You can read the story behind it on my other blog, Living Intentionally Simple.  But this is the 1st time I’ve had good Christmas tree pics.  I can never get the lighting the way I want it.

Beautiful Places

Sharing some photos from my other site.

Living Intentionally Simple

As some of you noticed, I haven’t had a presence on here for a while.  It has been difficult working away from home and keeping up with my family life, let alone my blogging life.  But my work is over, the season has ended, which means I once again have time for blogging.

I’ve written this post numerous times with numerous topics because I didn’t know what I wanted to share or where to begin. So, I thought the best thing to do was to share a few images I took while traveling for work. Traveling was the best part of job. If any of you have been on here long, you know how much I love exploring new places. The images above are a few places that I thought was absolutely stunning.  I’ve survived my  st season as a school portrait photographer, just in time for some holiday blogging fun.

9 Tips To Help You Capture Amazing Vacation Photos

Living Intentionally Simple

_RYA0260
Our vacation was great!  We explored Sebago Lake area, Naples, Boothbay & Bristol Maine.  The weather was great except for a late evening shower here and there, but who can complain about that.  11 days of exploring, camping, fun in the sun, & relaxing.
We are back home now, just in time to enjoy the last bits of summer before school starts at the end of the month…….15 days and counting.  The older I get, the quicker time moves, which of course is the opposite of what I want.  Isn’t it funny how that works?
Anyways, I had plenty of time to think about what I wanted to share here and I’ve got a great list of topics coming up.   The 1st thing I thought I would share is the different ideas that help me capture amazing vacation photos.
Now, I need to say that I am in way a professional, I’m what you…

Living Intentionally Simple

It’s the 1st week of summer vacation for us, school’s finally done.  What an amazing school year, this was.   A lot of things changed for us but the biggest change was having no more children at home.  This year was the 1st in 15 yrs I was home alone with no children to take care of. I began the school year worried & sad wondering what I will do with myself but ended the year with happiness because I was able to pursue things of my own desire and take care of my family & contentment at the beginning our new chapter with a great start.
Now on to the Wordless Wednesday party, which I look forwards to each week. This is a great way to get exposure to your blog and the posts you work hard on, as well as making new blogger friends and reading some great content. Something…
