On a walk I took the girls, at our favorite walking, biking, dog walking spot, we finally made it almost to the end and found this hidden and forgotten gem. Normal people might not consider this a gem, but as many know, I am far from normal. You can’t be normal when your a photographer.
I love old building since they have character and so full of history and untold stories. This particular building is located in Massachusetts, just over the border. What you can’t see is that on the other side of this old mill, is a cool playground. I plan on doing many walks on this trail with the girlies & Ben, having fun on the playground, stopping for a picnic or snack, then hiking back. Doesn’t that sound like an awesome mellow day? What would be your perfect mellow day look like?

I love to photograph old buildings, too! This one looks huge and that makes it so sad that its abandoned.

Where I live there are a lot of mill like buildings that are no longer in use that just sits there collecting dust. I plan on visiting a few of them in hopes I can go inside at least one. What a great picture that would be.

Untold stories is a wonderful description of old buildings. That’s what makes them come alive when photographing them. I love imagining what they were like in their prime…and the people that inhabited them.

I do the same thing, imagine what was happening there. I would have loved to have checked it out closer, if I didn’t have my kids with me. Since we have so many abandoned places, I plan on checking some more out, with someone else of course cause I am wimp. 🙂

what an epic building, I would so have to investigate further. It is rare to find such places in the UK as land is at such a premium it never gets left long before it is snapped up for something

Me too, if my kids weren’t with me. But of course I wouldn’t go alone cause all the scary movies I have ever watched would be replaying in my head. hahahaha
That’s an interesting fact about the UK. Here in New Hampshire there are tons of abandoned mills and other buildings. Makes for some interesting pictures I am sure. 🙂

I am obsessed with old, abandoned buildings as well! Living in an old steel town there are loads of similar buildings close by. I totally thought of a specific building close to me while reading this that I have been meaning to photography but never got around to it. Thanks for the reminder:)
Thanks for linking up:)
Cheers,
Alyson

I love doors too. But unfortunately there isn’t any cool or very unique doors around. Whenever I get to Europe, I don’t plan on coming back. To many things to photography…….doors, people, castles oh my.
